Web Site Owner's Manual
Site Owner's Manual
You are the one who knows the reasons why you want a website. You can help me by defining the main purpose of the website. In addition, you may have other less important goals you want the web site to achieve. Try to be clear in your mind what the order of importance of those goals is.
You are the one who knows most about your potential customers or clients. Can you tell me more about them?
Are there websites of competitors that may inspire us? Do you have some websites that you admire in mind? Can you say what it is that you like about them. Is it the ease of use, the design, the content?
As the website owner your can help me by telling me not only when things are going well but also when there are problems. You define the problem. My job is to come up with the solution.
In web design there are multiple areas that asks for attention all at once so any solution of a problem is always a bit of a compromise between layout, color design, marketing, usability, SEO, compelling content, and branding. Any change always competes with other areas and other aspects of the website. So, please communicate with me in terms of problems rather than solutions, so I can utilize my skills to come up with the right balance between these areas.
